Gooping and a Kitchen
The Kitchen is in but all the windows are gooped and we are locked out so the only picture we have is through the only ungooped window! The house is looking great and really taking shape now. The front facade is on its way but it looks like someone has reversed their car into one of the pillars in the front of the house taking out a sizeable chunk of brick - nice of them hey?

Week 11
Tuesday will mark the start of the 12th week of construction on our house.. hopefully it will also mean we arrive at lockup!
We should have been at lockup by this weekend.. unfortunately we had rain and thunderstorms everyday last week which slowed things down a little - but they are still confident that we will be in before Christmas! Luckily - for our builder anyway!- we decided to get them to do our driveway as well which gave them the opportunity to add another week to our contract period.
Anyhoo the brickwork is about 2/3rds done now. I wasn't sure how the double height bricks would look. Traditionally I haven't been a fan of them, but they looked good with the flush offwhite mortar at the CSR brick display (albeit on a very small section of wall) so I thought id giv ethem a try. They look pretty swell to me - especilly with the white windows that Michelle choose :)

Windows and Doors
Hello chums!
We had a meeting onsite with our supervisor this morning to ask a few questions. The roofing guys were also there pointing the tiles which are looking swell!
Apparently we should be locked out of the house by next weekend with all the brick work and plasterboard having been done - fingers crossed!

We're Guttered
The Gutters are up and window frames and roof tiles (modelled by Bryan) have been delivered. We haven't had any response from Adenbrook and the bedroom window is still the wrong size. There are lots of little things around the house that look wrong, like noggins falling down, however our Site Supervisor was awfully rude when asked if we could join him at the site one day to ask some questions so we are unsure how these will be addressed. Not much progress in the last week though. Maybe next week something will be done...

Framed
The frame has started to go up! Unfortunately it doesn't quite match the plans but we have pointed this out to Adenbrook and they are supposed to be rectifying this. Also one of the vertical supports of the brand new retaining wall has a split down it and is coming away from the wall. It's a little disappointing and i just want to say "hey, we don't have the time to be checking up on your work" but in the grand scheme of things both problems are minor and there is plenty of time to fix them. Let's see what happens...

We Landscaped!!!...and the piers are down.
This morning with some help from our parents/in-laws and a good friend, Gen, we did some landscaping along the back fence! We bought some railway sleepers and laid them along the back fence to hold in the dirt when Adenbrook pushes the dirt down. We have a number of them left over if anyone needs some...... They have also done the piering and the surveying AND we have a portaloo that works (thanks for checking Dave). It's all moving along despite all the rock. You can see us working hard here - Bryan is covered in dirt and Michelle is overseeing the project from her coveted "i have an injured disc" management position.
