While We Wait

All we can do now is wait. Construction is set to start on the 31st of July - another 8 days to go. We are keeping ourselves busy in the meantime - as shown in the picture, today Bryan built a new indoor winter hutch for the girls. It looks fantastic and is just what they needed. Nevertheless Bryan would not like to discuss the experience any further!
An added photo of the girls in their new hutch!

Decisions Made and A Celebratory Lunch

All the options have been decided! The bricks, the walls, the tiles - it's all done and the plans have been submitted to council. Now we wait.
We chose mostly neutral colours during our colour selection appointment - whites, browns, etc and will add colour with accessories. This way its much easier to renovate if we change our mind! We have oak timber floors and white walls leaving us plenty of room to decorate any way we like.
Adenbrook are still being fantastic. Our appointments yesterday went wonderfully - another Thank you to Ryan who was filling in but did just as good a job. We are still amazed at how smoothly it is going now that we have changed builders. At this stage we would happily recommend Adenbrook to anyone.
AND....We had a lovely celebratory lunch today with a special friend who helped us through some of the more trying times of the lead up to this point. A big THANK YOU was more than warranted.

First Hole Dug

We went out to the land today, now that we officially own it. We had planned to plant our first tree - a native frangipani - but after pegging out the dimensions of our house the building envelope didn't leave much room for it. We decided it might not survive the building process so best to wait till later. We were a bit disappointed that house has had to be set back so far on the land because it leaves no backyard but we are still looking forward to working with what we've got. We've also chosen to use the large space in the front yard for a 10,000L water tank, something that will definately come in handy with the weather lately. We still planted the compost to help improve the soil and Bryan looked great digging his "first hole" on his own land. Since I was no good at digging I spent the weekend dreaming at Puppy World. I think our first dog will be like this one pictured here!!!
